Species & symptom protocol runs
The deterministic triage engine โ not an AI model โ walks the owner through your clinic-configured protocol tree: species, age group, chief complaint, and severity indicators. Protocols are editable by your team; every published revision is versioned.
Urgency is classified and routed
The engine scores the interaction against your red-flag criteria. Non-urgent cases receive self-care guidance and a first-available booking link. True emergencies are routed to your designated ER partner with address, map, and estimated travel time.
On-call DVM is paged only when warranted

No integration is required for launch. AfterHours Ally operates independently โ owners access it via a branded link, and your team reviews interactions in the dashboard. Optional webhook exports can pipe data to most PMSs when you're ready.
What keeps the AI from giving bad advice?
There is no AI making clinical decisions. The triage engine is purely deterministic โ it follows the protocol tree you configure and approve. An AI layer is available optionally for symptom pre-classification, but every urgency score is produced by the rule engine, not a language model.
How long does setup take?
Most clinics are live in under a day. You configure your on-call roster, review the default protocol set, add your ER partner details, and publish your branded link. No code, no server, no IT ticket.
Is the audit trail defensible in court?
It is designed to be. Every record carries an immutable timestamp, IP hash, consent version, and session token. Interactions cannot be edited after the fact. We recommend consulting your liability carrier for specific guidance.
